First at all thanks for this video which I found very informative on how to operate the boiler. I recently had an Ecotect Sustain installed and I found that the boiler wakes up when opening any cold water tap in the house. The fan starts to spin up, you can see the flame symbol for a short seconds and then disappears and eventually the fan stops spinning. I have never seen or expected this behaviour with previous combi boilers, Is this normal?

Is there a way to call for hot water whilst waiting for a broken flow turbine repair?

Thank you so much. We have a Glow Worm Easicom 24. If anyone has this boiler there is only one leaver instead of two and i had to turn it anti clockwise (not clockwise) water pressure started working imeediately and hot water returned in a few mins. Side note, be mindful of your thermostat, if its actually warm weather like the summer make sure your thermostat is set to high so it triggers the boiler to work. I.e if your house temperture is 18 degrees and the your thermostat is set to 16 in the summer, automatically your boiler wont be triggered to work. Quick fix is increase it to a high tempature and it will resume working. Thanks Again!

I have done over about 30 turns with tape and still can’t tighten properly

my combiboiler keeps pumping something out for 30sec every 8min. It isn't turning on like heating water as flame doesn't turn on. And preheat function should be switched off. As i selected off on the controller. Boiler guy came and said it was flow valve filled with limescale. He replaced it, and it now turns on for 3 seconds every 8min. Is that normal, Any idea why it keeps venting something for 3 seconds every 8min?

Good video well explained, I have a lazy capacitor on solar system pump it works for four or five days but then it gives in and I have to manually get the pump running by tweaking the speed switch on the pump. I’m going to replace the capacitor and see if it solves the issue.

sir I have a question, this aqua signal ignites the gas boiler but is it a continous signal or just a one time ? the reason i am asking this is , i am doing a project and i have connected a electric heater to heat water but i dont want to run both heaters at same time and want to save my gas money so i figured if i just block this aqua signal , i can stop gas boiler from igniting ! so please if you reply it will be a huge help ! thanks in advance!!

Balancing radiators looks an easy task with a handful of radiators. I've got 22 of them and I got dizzy just trying (and failing) to work out the order they are in the heating circuit, let alone refining anything. Having low flow temps may makes it all very efficient but it adds another level of complication to the process. In an old v-hot design you could simple feel the flow and return and the heating pattern on a radiator just by feel alone.

Great video! We've recently had one of these installed and was worried great, but in the last week on eco mode the water will heat up and almost immediately start cooling down again so we're not getting consistent hot water when we want to do the dishes or run a bath. Any advice?

I had a Logic combi when we moved in and the central heating temperature knob did nothing - As it happened there was a weather compensator installed which takes that control away and the radiator temps are set automatically by the system based on the outside temperature. This is important to note as some people may be unaware that their CH knob is doing nothing. Turns out it was a really crappy system because unless it was near zero outside the radiators were never hot enough to heat the house.

mine keeps turning on for 25 seconds, i can hear it doing something like pumping air or gas or something out. and then stops for 2-3min then repeats. everything switched off in the flat. wondering if that normal or an issue like water leak could cause such a behaviour? or is this normal and I'm just noticing it now and hadn't before? I'm not seeing the tap led lighting up when it starts pumping the air out.

The only thing I did differently, after several attempts, was to put pressure with my fist on the whole screen while still hot. All numbers and letters are now showing as if brand new. Amazing. Cannot be more grateful.

Just bought my first house and I’m trying to install my Hive mini set up into the existing ideal iMini boiler. It’s already set up with a Drayton Digistat+2 which is connected with a three chord flex but the earth wire isn’t connected to anything. My question is - will everything work fine if I just replace the Drayton with my hive and use the three chord flex and wire it up as you’ve shown ? What’s the benefit of using the switch wires ?

Ive done this and its working!! However, there is a slight leakage on the pipe with a small drip. Will this stop?
